Who are the top three-point shooters in NBA history?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

Note: Updated in 2022.

10. Jason Terry: a career 38.0% three-point shooter, Terry made 100+ threes in 13 consecutive seasons (and 14x overall) and is currently top-10 on the all-time NBA list for career threes made.

9. Steve Nash: while better known for his passing skills, Nash was a highly efficient shooter as well, shooting 42.8% from downtown for his career, including 14 seasons of 40%+ and 4x achieving a 50-40-90 season.

8. Peja Stojakovic: Peja shot 40%+ from downtown 8x and overall for his career (40.1%), leading the NBA in threes made in 2003-2004 and winning the Three-Point Contest in consecutive years in his prime (2002-2003).

7. Steve Kerr: currently the head coach of the three-point happy Golden State Warriors, Kerr was a three-point specialist during his NBA career, shooting 45.4% on three-pointers (including leading the league on two separate occasions at 50%+) en route to five NBA titles.

6. Larry Bird: though he does not have the same amount of volume as some of the other guys (the 1980s were a different era for shooting threes), Bird twice led the NBA in threes made and won the first three Three-Point Contests (1986-1988) in his prime.

5. Klay Thompson: the other half of the “Splash Brothers”, Thompson is a prolific three-point shooter in his own right, having made 40%+ of his career attempts and setting a record with 14 threes made in a game in 2018.

4. Kyle Korver: top-five on the career threes made list, Korver was another three-point specialist who led the NBA in three-pointing shooting percentage 4x in his career, including a career-best 53.6% in 2009-2010.

3. Reggie Miller: known for his clutch shooting in the 1990s (particularly vs. the New York Knicks – who can forget his eight points in nine seconds?), Miller was the elite shooter of his day, draining 39.5% of his three-point attempts and retiring as the NBA’s all-time leading three-point shooter.

2. Ray Allen: a lethal marksman for nearly 20 years, Allen shot 40.0% from behind the arc for his career and is currently second behind only Steph Curry for most career three-pointers made; before the explosion of three-point shooting in the 2010s, he held the single-season record with 269 three-pointers made in 2005-2006.

1. Steph Curry: currently the best shooter in the NBA, Curry has been at the vanguard of the rising popularity of the three-pointer and owns the single-season record for most three-pointers made (402 in 2015-2016; also holds 6 of the top 10 seasons overall): a career 42%+ shooter from behind the arc, he is unsurprisingly #1 all-time in career three-pointers made.
