Who are the top Toronto Maple Leafs of all time?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

10. Borje Salming: one of the first European-born and raised players to make an impact in the NHL, Salming spent the majority of his career with the Maple Leafs and was known for both his toughness and skill (787 career points).

9. Turk Broda: the winningest goalie in franchise history, Broda spent his entire 14-year career with Toronto and won 304 games (including 61 shutouts) en route to five Stanley Cup titles and a pair of Vezina Trophies.

8. George Armstrong: the longest-serving captain in Maple Leafs history, Armstrong spent 21 years with the team and holds the record for most games played; additionally, he posted 713 career points and led Toronto to four Stanley Cups.

7. Frank Mahovlich: starting off his career as a Calder Trophy winner, Mahovlich spent a dozen years with the Maple Leafs, scoring over 500 career goals and 1,100 career points while winning four Stanley Cups during the team’s heyday.

6. Mats Sundin: Toronto’s captain for over a decade, Sundin was the first European-born player drafted first overall; he is the Maple Leafs’ all-time leader in career goals and points and became just the second Swede inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

5. Tim Horton: the eponymous founder of the famous coffee chain, Horton played a then-record 1,446 career regular season games for a defenseman and was known for his strength; as a Maple Leaf, he was twice runner-up for the Norris Trophy and won four championships.

4. Darryl Sittler: the NHL record-holder for most points in a single game (10 points on 6 goals and 4 assists in 1976), Sittler was a Maple Leaf for nearly a dozen years and compiled nine consecutive seasons of 75+ points en route to 1,121 career points.

3. Johnny Bower: despite only playing 77 NHL games before the age of 34, Bower still won two Vezina Trophies and led the Maple Leafs to four Stanley Cup titles while playing until the age of 45.

2. Syl Apps: the inaugural winner of the Calder Trophy, Apps was one of the team’s earliest stars – despite missing a few prime seasons due to World War II, he nevertheless finished in the top three for Hart Trophy in five straight seasons and guided Toronto to three Stanley Cups in his decade-long tenure with the team.

1. Dave Keon: one of the top two-way players of his era, Keon wore the Maple Leafs uniform for 15 seasons and won four Stanley Cups (including Conn Smythe honors in 1966-1967) and two Lady Byngs while scoring nearly 1,000 career points.
