Larry Bird or Magic Johnson, Sidney Crosby or Alex Ovechkin, Roger Federer or Serena Williams, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, the list goes on and on – whether it be at the bar, on the couch, or around the watercolor, sports fans seem to endlessly debate the age-old question of who was/is better.  One of the beauties of sports and what makes these discussions/arguments fascinating and timeless is that everyone has their opinion and there (usually) is no right or wrong answer.

As for me, I have been a fanatic sports fan since I was a kid – my earliest sports memories include the Atlanta Braves beating the Cleveland Indians in the World Series, the New Jersey Devils winning the Stanley Cup over the Detroit Red Wings, and the Dallas Cowboys cruising to a Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, i.e. circa 1995.  In the 20+ years since then, I have watched and played countless hours of sports, been a member of the same fantasy football league since the early 2000s, and discussed and argued over countless sports topics with my friends, either in person or over the Internet.

This blog is a natural byproduct of my lifelong love of sports – welcome to Sports H2H, which is dedicated to tackling a variety of head-to-head debates across the wide world of sports (football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, you name it – if I follow the sport even a little bit, I am bound to have some opinions).  Each entry will feature a new head-to-head debate between two athletes in the same sport, where I will look at their careers in comparison, analyze their statistics and accomplishments, and ultimately weigh in with my personal take on who wins the head-to-head. Of course, I have created this blog not as a gospel of truth, but rather as an open and evolving forum, so at the end of each post, I will also include a voting function and plenty of room for you, the reader, to leave your own opinion and also any suggestions for future head-to-head comparisons you would like to see.

Happy reading, and I look forward to sharing and debating with all of you – Game On!
