Who are the top Atlanta Hawks of all time?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

10. Al Horford: the third overall pick in 2007, Horford played his first nine NBA seasons with Atlanta and earned four All-Star selections and an All-NBA nod with the team.

9. Lenny Wilkens: before becoming one of the winningest coaches in NBA history, Wilkens was an outstanding player in his own right, earning five All-Star selections in eight seasons with the Hawks while averaging 15.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

8. Trae Young: acquired in a draft day trade for Luka Doncic, Young has quickly become the face of the Hawks franchise – he has averaged 25+ points per game in his first four seasons with Atlanta, earning two All-Star selections and an All-NBA nod.

7. Pete Maravich: the top scorer in NCAA history, Maravich brought his high-scoring ways to the NBA, averaging 20+ points per game 3x in four seasons with the Hawks, in the process earning a pair of All-Star nods and an All-NBA selection.

6. Cliff Hagan: in spending his entire decade-long NBA career with the Hawks, Hagan was a 5x All-Star in his prime with four straight seasons of 20+ points per game and led the team to a title in 1957-1958.

5. Joe Johnson: consistently among the league leaders in minutes played, Johnson spent seven seasons in his prime with Atlanta and was a strong all-around player (20.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game) en route to six All-Star nods and one All-NBA selection in a Hawks uniform.

4. Dikembe Mutombo: one of the greatest defensive players in NBA history, Mutombo spent four-and-half seasons in the middle of his career with the Hawks and won Defensive Player of the Year 3x during this span while also making four All-Star and two All-NBA Teams and winning two rebounding titles.

3. Lou Hudson: an explosive scorer, Hudson posted 20+ points per game for seven consecutive years (22.0 points per game overall in 11 seasons with St. Louis and Atlanta) and made six straight All-Star Games with an All-NBA selection in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

2. Dominique Wilkins: known as the “Human Highlight Reel”, Wilkins earned nine All-Star and seven All-NBA selections with Atlanta while averaging 24.8 points per game for his career, including 11 straight seasons of 20+ points per game and a scoring title in 1985-1986.

Bob Pettit: the very first MVP in NBA history (2x overall) and also a 2x scoring champion, Pettit was one of the league’s first superstars, earning All-Star and All-NBA honors every season of his career and finishing with career averages of 26.4 points and 16.2 rebounds per game (third all-time in rebounding) while leading the Hawks to the NBA title in 1957-1958.
