Who are the top Los Angeles Kings of all time? Here is our top 10 countdown:
10. Dustin Brown: the team’s career leader in games played upon retirement, Brown played his entire 18-year NHL career with Los Angeles and won two Stanley Cups with the team while accumulating 700+ career points and winning the Messier Award in 2013-2014.
9. Rob Blake: one of the best offensive blueliners of his era, Blake spent 13+ seasons with the Kings across two stints and scored nearly 500 career points in Los Angeles, highlighted by the Norris Trophy in 1997-1998.
8. Bernie Nicholls: spending most of the high-scoring 1980s with the Kings (eight-and-half seasons), Nicholls racked up well over a point-per-game in Los Angeles, including a career-best 1988-1989 campaign with 70 goals and 80 assists for 150 points.
7. Dave Taylor: part of the famed “Triple Crown” line with Marcel Dionne, Taylor spent all 17 of his NHL seasons with the Kings and racked up 1,069 career points, earning both the Masterton and Clancy Trophies in 1990-1991.
6. Drew Doughty: a longtime defensive standout since being drafted second overall by the Kings in 2008, Doughty not only won the Norris Trophy in 2015-2016 and has over 500 career points from the blueline, but was an integral piece of two Stanley Cup-winning teams.
5. Jonathan Quick: the winningest goalie in franchise history, Quick has spent his entire career with the Kings and racked up 350+ wins, twice winning the Jennings Trophy and leading the team to a pair of Stanley Cup titles while also winning the Conn Smythe in 2011-2012.
4. Anze Kopitar: one of the best two-way forwards of the 21st century, Kopitar has scored 1,000+ career points with the Kings while earning a pair of Selke Trophies, a Lady Byng, and the Messier Award en route to two Stanley Cup titles in Los Angeles.
3. Wayne Gretzky: shockingly traded from the Edmonton Oilers to Los Angeles in 1988, Gretzky remained a force after his Oilers heyday – across seven-and-half seasons with the Kings, he scored 900+ points (a great career for most players) with a Hart Trophy, three Ross Trophies, and three Lady Byngs.
2. Luc Robitaille: a somewhat underrated standout during his 14 seasons with the Kings, Robitaille began his career with eight straight seasons of 40+ goals (including a Calder Trophy in his rookie year) and retired as the then-career leader in goals scored by a left winger (668).

Marcel Dionne: drafted second overall in 1971, the 5’8” Dionne toiled for most of his career with Los Angeles (12 seasons) and is one of the greatest players to have never won a Stanley Cup, but was nevertheless a Ross Trophy (1x) and Pearson Trophy (2x) winner who had seven 100-point seasons with the Kings and is sixth on the NHL’s all-time scoring list with 1,771 career points.
