6. John MacLean: selected sixth overall in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft by the Devils, MacLean spent the first 14 years of his NHL career with New Jersey and had three consecutive 40-goal seasons in his prime; he was part of the team’s first championship run and retired as the franchise’s all-time leading career scorer (since surpassed by Elias).

2. Scott Stevens: acquired in 1991 as compensation for Brendan Shanahan, Stevens was an intimidating presence on the blueline for New Jersey – the team’s longtime captain, he finished top-10 for the Norris Trophy 10x in 13 years with the team and led the Devils to three Stanley Cups, in the process earning Conn Smythe honors in 1999-2000.

1. Martin Brodeur: the NHL’s all-time leader in goalie starts, wins, and shutouts, Brodeur was the epitome of consistency and excellence as the face of the Devils for nearly two decades, winning four Vezina and five Jennings Trophies and guiding the team to three Stanley Cup titles.
