Who are the top Phoenix Suns of all time?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

10. Dick Van Arsdale: the Suns’ first pick in the 1968 expansion draft, Van Arsdale came over from the New York Knicks and would play in Phoenix for nine years, garnering three straight All-Star selections in his prime while averaging 17.6 points per game overall (3x with 20+ points per game).

9. Alvan Adams: the franchise leader in games played, rebounds, and steals, Adams played all 13 of his NBA seasons with the Suns (nearly 1,000 games), starting off his career as Rookie of the Year and an All-Star in 1975-1976 and going on to average 14.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

8. Devin Booker: already a 3x All-Star and 1x All-NBA selection in his first eight seasons, Booker has averaged over 23 points per game as a Sun, including 20+ points per game each season after his rookie year.

7. Walter Davis: the 1977-1978 Rookie of the Year, Davis spent his first 11 NBA seasons in Phoenix and posted 20.5 points per game en route to six All-Star and two All-NBA selections.

6. Shawn Marion: one of the most versatile players of his era, Marion earned four All-Star and a pair of All-NBA selections across nearly nine seasons in Phoenix while averaging 18.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.

5. Jason Kidd: a quintessential “big” point guard who was among the NBA’s elite for more than a decade, Kidd played four-and-half seasons in Phoenix after being acquired in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks; as a Sun, he led the NBA in assists for three consecutive years and averaged 14.4 points and 9.7 assists per game en route to being a 3x All-Star, 3x All-NBA, and 3x All-Defensive selection.

4. Amar’e Stoudemire: before knee injuries took their toll, Stoudemire burst onto the scene as Rookie of the Year in 2002-2003 and was one of the league’s most athletic and dominant big men, averaging 21.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game across eight seasons in Phoenix en route to five All-Star and four All-NBA nods.

3. Kevin Johnson: though plagued by injuries throughout his career, Johnson was dynamic when healthy – acquired midseason as a rookie, he spent the next dozen years in Phoenix and put up 18.7 points and 9.5 assists per game en route to being a 3x All-Star and 5x All-NBA pick.

Charles Barkley: acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers in 1992, Barkley was a double-double machine during his four seasons as a Sun, putting up 23.4 points and 11.5 rebounds per game to earn All-Star and All-NBA honors every year; moreover, he was league MVP and led Phoenix to the NBA Finals in 1992-1993.

1. Steve Nash: the engine of the Suns’ high-octane offense of the 2000s, Nash had two stints in Phoenix totaling a decade; the 6x All-Star and 5x All-Pro led the NBA in assists 5x and became only the ninth player in history to win back-to-back MVP awards.
