Who are the top NHL players of the 2010s?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

10. Connor McDavid: drafted #1 overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2015, McDavid posted three straight 100-point seasons and earned three All-Star Game selections, two Ross Trophies, two Pearson Awards, and a Hart Trophy while posting the highest point-per-game scoring average for the decade.

9. Steven Stamkos: a 6x All-Star Game selection and 2x Richard Trophy winner, Stamkos scored nearly 350 goals in the 2010s and trails only Alex Ovechkin as the top goal scorer of the decade.

8. Carey Price: in addition to a dominating 2014-2015 season that saw him win the Hart, Vezina, Jennings, and Pearson, Price earned six All-Star Games selections during the decade and had over 280 wins and 40 shutouts with a 2.44 GAA and .919 SV%.

7. Henrik Lundqvist: with four All-Star Game selections and a Vezina Trophy (plus three other top-five finishes), Lundqvist accumulated over 280 wins with 40 shutouts in the 2010s while posting a 2.50 GAA and .918 SV%.

6. Patrice Bergeron: perhaps the best two-way forward in the NHL, Bergeron not only tallied nearly 600 points in the 2010s, but also won the Selke Trophy 4x (and placed top-three another 4x) and Clancy Trophy once while helping the Boston Bruins to a Stanley Cup.

5. Evgeni Malkin: despite being overshadowed by his teammate Sidney Crosby, Malkin has been a superstar in his own right: with five All-Star Game selections and nearly 700 points scored for the decade, he won the Hart/Pearson/Ross trifecta in 2011-2012 and has guided the Pittsburgh Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cups.

4. Erik Karlsson: the premier defenseman of his generation, Karlsson is a 2x Norris Trophy winner (with two other second-place finishes) and 6x All-Star Game selection who led the decade in points scored from the blue line.

3. Patrick Kane: leading the NHL in total points scored in the 2010s, Kane earned eight All-Star Game selections during the decade and won the Hart/Pearson/Ross trifecta in 2015-2016; he also helped the Chicago Blackhawks to three championships with one Conn Smythe Trophy to his name.

2. Alex Ovechkin: by far the top goal scorer of his generation, Ovechkin was an 8x All-Star Game selection who not only took home six Richard Trophies, a Pearson Award, and a Hart Trophy during the decade, but also guided the Washington Capitals to their first-ever Stanley Cup, winning Conn Smythe honors in the process.

1. Sidney Crosby: the second-leading point-scorer of the decade in terms of both total points and points per game, Crosby did it all: a 5x All-Star Game selection, he won two Pearsons, a Hart, a Ross, and a pair of Richard Trophies while leading the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cup titles (and winning the Conn Smythe both times).
