Who are the top Dallas Cowboys of all time?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

10. Troy Aikman: the #1 overall pick in 1989, Aikman was a 6x Pro Bowler who quarterbacked the Cowboys to three Super Bowl titles in the 1990s, including winning MVP honors in Super Bowl XXVII.

9. Jason Witten: a model of consistency at the tight end position (11 Pro Bowls), Witten set a then-tight end record with 110 receptions in 2012 and ranks second all-time behind only Tony Gonzalez for both receptions and receiving yards.

8. Mel Renfro: with 52 career interceptions (including an NFL-best 10 picks in 1969), Renfro was a 10x Pro Bowl and 1x All-Pro cornerback who won two Super Bowls with the Cowboys.

7. Randy White: a 9x Pro Bowler and 7x All-Pro at defensive tackle, White also earned MVP honors for the Cowboys’ Super Bowl XII victory.

6. Michael Irvin: as part of Dallas’ “Triplets” with Aikman and Emmitt Smith during three Super Bowl runs, Irvin racked up seven 1,000-yard receiving seasons and nearly 12,000 total receiving yards en route to five Pro Bowls and an All-Pro selection.

5. Tony Dorsett: bursting onto the scene as Offensive Rookie of the Year and a Super Bowl champion in 1977, Dorsett compiled eight 1,000-yard rushing seasons and was a 4x Pro Bowler and 1x All-Pro with the Cowboys en route to over 12,000 career rushing yards.

4. Larry Allen: one of the premier offensive lineman of his era, Allen made a Cowboys-record 11 Pro Bowls with six All-Pro selections and helped guide the team to Super Bowl XXX.

3. Bob Lilly: one of the greatest defensive tackles in NFL history, Lilly spent his entire Hall of Fame career with the Cowboys, earning 11 Pro Bowl and seven All-Pro selections while helping the team win Super Bowl VI.

2. Emmitt Smith: one of the cornerstones of the Cowboys dynasty of the 1990s, Smith is the NFL’s all-time rushing leader with 18,355 rushing yards and 164 rushing touchdowns (also a record) on the strength of 11 1,000-yard seasons and four rushing titles with Dallas.

1. Roger Staubach: though he only played for 10 NFL seasons, Staubach was a 6x Pro Bowler and 2x Super Bowl champion who excelled with both his arm and his legs, passing for 22,700 yards and rushing for 2,264 yards during his Hall of Fame career.
