Who are the top Chicago Blackhawks of all time?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

10. Ed Belfour: beginning his Chicago career with the Calder, Vezina, and Jennings trifecta, Belfour earned 201 victories in seven-and-a-half years with the team, ultimately winning two Vezina and three Jennings Trophies in a Blackhawks uniform.

9. Chris Chelios: one of NHL’s all-time iron men (he played more career games than any other defenseman), Chelios spent nearly a decade with Chicago in the 1990s and won a pair of Norris Trophies (top-10 seven straight years) while racking up the most penalty minutes in franchise history.

8. Glenn Hall: the first “butterfly-style” goalie, Hall spent the prime decade of his career with the Blackhawks, winning 276 of his career victories and a pair of Vezina Trophies (with seven top-10 Hart Trophies showings) while backstopping the team to the Stanley Cup in 1960-1961.

7. Pierre Pilote: one of the greatest defensemen in the pre-Bobby Orr era, Pilote was a pivotal piece of the 1960-1961 Stanley Cup-winning team; moreover, he was incredibly consistent from the blueline with three consecutive Norris Trophies (and eight straight top-five showings) in his prime for Chicago.

6. Denis Savard: the heart and soul of the Blackhawks in the 1980s, Savard was a model of consistency throughout the decade, producing five 100+ point seasons and racking up over 1,000 career points with the team.

5. Jonathan Toews: one of the best two-way players of his generation, Toews has captained the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup championships while individually earning both a Conn Smythe and a Selke Trophy.

4. Tony Esposito: perhaps the greatest goalie in Blackhawks history, Esposito began his career with a record-setting Calder Trophy campaign (modern-day NHL record for most shutouts in a season) and went on to win three Vezina Trophies while winning a franchise-record 418 career games with Chicago (all but five of his career victories).

3. Patrick Kane: arguably the greatest American player ever, Kane was the first US-born player to win the Hart and Ross Trophies and has won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks while amassing over 1,000 career points.

2. Stan Mikita: one of the first great European-born NHL players, Mikita spent his entire 22-year career with Chicago, accumulating 1,467 career points (most in team history) while winning four Ross Trophies, two Hart Trophies, and one Stanley Cup with the team.

1. Bobby Hull: known as “The Golden Jet”, Hull is not only the top goal-scorer in team history, but also arguably the greatest goal-scorer of his era, leading the NHL in goals 7x and scoring 50+ goals in a season 5x, including a career-high 58 in 1968-1969; he won three Ross and two Hart Trophies with the Blackhawks and won his only Stanley Cup with the team in 1960-1961.
