Who are the top Buffalo Sabres of all time?  Here is our top 10 countdown:

9. Alexander Mogilny: after coming over to the NHL following the fall of the Soviet Union, Mogilny quickly established himself as an offensive dynamo in six seasons with the Sabres, highlighted by a 1992-1993 campaign that saw him tally a league-best and career-high 76 goals.

8. Phil Housley: drafted #6 overall by Buffalo in 1982, Housley played his first eight seasons as a Sabre and was an offensive force on the blue line, totaling at least 60 points each season (558 total with the team) and placing top-10 for the Norris Trophy on three occasions.

7. Dave Andreychuk: one of the best power-play scorers in NHL history, Andreychuk was a steady offensive force who tallied just over 800 points in nearly a dozen seasons as a Sabre and still holds the franchise record for most power-play goals.

6. Rick Martin: despite his career being shortened by injuries, Martin was a dynamic offensive player in his decade with Buffalo, tallying 695 points in 681 games as part of the “French Connection” line.

5. Craig Ramsay: second only to Gilbert Perreault for games played as a Sabre, Ramsay spent his entire 14-year NHL career in Buffalo and was one of the game’s best two-way forwards, finishing top-five in Selke Trophy voting 6x before finally winning it in his final season (1984-1985).

4. Pat LaFontaine: though his career was plagued by concussion issues, LaFontaine was electrifying when healthy – he has the highest points-per-game average in franchise history across six seasons in Buffalo, including a team-record 148-point season in 1992-1993.

3. Ryan Miller: the winningest goalie in franchise history, Miller played the first decade plus of his career with the Sabres, notching 284 wins and taking home the Vezina Trophy in 2009-2010.

2. Gilbert Perreault: the Sabres’ inaugural draft pick, Perreault played his entire career in Buffalo and centered the famed “French Connection” line to the tune of 512 goals and 814 assists for 1,326 career points; he remains the Sabres’ career leader in most offensive categories.

1. Dominik Hasek: a six-time Vezina Trophy winner, 2x Pearson Award winner, and 2x Jennings Trophy winner across nine seasons with Buffalo, Hasek is the only goalie to win multiple Hart Trophies (as league MVP) and holds NHL career records for highest SV% (.9223) and lowest GAA in the modern era (2.202).
